Outlands Heavy Weapons Prize Tourney/Outlands Queen's Tea (Helga Ball!!!!!!)
|
The Kingdom of the Outlands will hold their annual heavy weapons prize tournament open to all registration heavy weapons fighters. Sign-up for the tournament will be held beginning at 9 a.m. with the start at 10 a.m. The fighting will be a follows:
To open, there will be up to 6 fighting fields with equal numbers of fighters in each. Assignment of fighters to these cells will be a mixture from all kingdoms represented at sign-up. You will be given a number to remember throughout the tournament. Each sell will hold a 1-hour Bear Pit tournament. The first and second fighters will start off in a single fight. The loser will exit to give the number of the one who just beat them to the Lists Mistress for their field and goes to the end of the line. The next fighter in the line goes in to fight the winner. You know the drill. If there is a double kill, both fighters are considered to have a loss. In this case, 2 new fighters will enter the ring for the next fight.
After the 1-hour Bear Pit, the top 5 winning fighters will move on to a Best 2-of-3, double elimination tournament with all the pomp (double kills refought). Draws will semi-random but will try to minimize the fighters having to fight someone from their own kingdom or one they have fought before. This will start with two fields and dwindle to one as the number of fighters lesson.
The victor will receive wonderful prizes gifted by Outlands artisans and her citizens!

Estrella War Banana Bread Bakeoff V or VI or maybe even VII (we lost track)
|
Many things have changed with the war this year (site, dates, etc), but one thing the denizens of Estrella War can be sure of is that there will be a Banana Bread Bakeoff! Back by popular demand, The CPQBB (Committee for the Preservation of Quality Banana Bread) will host the Annual Estrella War Banana Bread Bakeoff on Thursday evening at Estrella War. This ancient and venerable competition has become a highlight of the war in the minds of many (well… at least the judges). There will be some changes to the format of the bakeoff this year to hopefully provide more opportunities for the populace to be involved in the judging. Anyone interested in competing in this time honored Bake Off may deliver their entry to the Atenveldt Baronial Encampment after 5 PM on the day of the competition (Thursday, March 29th). Each entry should be submitted with a card bearing the entrant’s name and any noteworthy information about the entry (cards will be available in the encampment). If you would like to ensure that you have a place to sit during the competition, please bring a chair with you. Location: Barony of Atenveldt Baronial Pavilion Time: Thursday, March 29th at 8:00 PM Rules and Legal Jargonese: All entries must be made by the entrant, but do not need to be made on site. Both breads with and without nuts will be acceptable, as well as breads that do not meet the traditional definition of banana bread provided they do in fact contain bananas and are a bread. Winner will be chosen by a panel of well-qualified judges who have all passed the CPQBB exhaustive pre-judging questionnaire and qualification review. Breads will be judged and prizes awarded in two categories, traditional and creative as well as a populace choice. Contrary to popular belief the CPQBB is not just a front set up by Duke Jonathon to aid in the acquisition of Banana Bread… there are other people involved as well. Entries will be judged without the judges knowing who produced the entry. Judges will provide their own butter or spread of choice. Duke Jonathon and the CPQBB maintain no responsibility for the remains of entries making it back to the entrant, as it is expected that any crumbs left by the judges will be pilfered by wannabe judges and mooches who unlike His Grace did not come up with this brilliant idea to get his fill of banana bread.
